Following 30 years in market data and contract management Nigel changed to a musical career in 2010. He has his own private piano practice (Nigel Chapman Music) teaching piano and music theory to around 75 students each week (online).
He gained a Music Diploma 2012-14 with modules in Understanding music, Composition and Performance.
Currently, Nigel is a visiting peripatetic teacher providing piano lessons at St. Cedd's School, Chelmsford. He is also currently engaged as a music teacher providing weekly music curriculum lessons at St. Anne's School, Chelmsford.
Nigel has also providede music curriculum Key stage I & II and piano lessons at the following schools. Baddow Hall Infant and Juniors (Chelmsford), St Michael's (Galleywood), William Martin Juniors (Harlow), Eversley Primary (Bowers Gifford, Pitsea), Felsted Primary School (Bannister Green, Felsted), St. Helen's Academy (Brentwood), two- year contract, St, Anne's School (Chelmsford).
Nigel played for a Brentwood drama group for 8 years (Homestead Players) rehearsala and shows. He also played piano each week for 10 years at New Hall Chapel (Catholic Church).
Nigel's aim is to make lessons fun and rewarding. He has a patient, enthusiastic, sympathetic approach when teaching students at all ages and levels. He allows students to progress at their own pace, encouraging a life-long love of piano playing and music in general.
Nigel welcomes enquiries from all ages and ability. He teaches students who are complete beginners through to more advanced players.
